Thank you, Oconee RESA, for introducing us to the Lit, Love, Read campaign, a Georgia-based literacy initiative that ran from February 4th to March 6th, aimed at boosting students' reading skills through the joy of daily read-alouds. Each story read aloud deepens comprehension, strengthens connections, and fosters a lifelong love of reading. Thank you for reading aloud to us:

๐Ÿ“–Mrs. Fowler
๐Ÿ“–Ms. Qualls

Also, we would like to recognize the following 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for their participation in the Young Georgia Authors competition, also spearheaded by Oconee RESA.
๐Ÿ“John Stephens
๐Ÿ“Gracelyn Cowart
๐Ÿ“Mia Smalley

Thank you all for your hard work and commitment to literacy in Wilkinson County!

Students in the STREAM Academy afterschool program recently explored the world of graphic design using the Affinity platform. During the activity, middle school students worked to design high-impact business logos, experimenting with different fonts, color schemes, and scaling to create a logo that stands out.

๐ŸšŒWarriors on the road!

Mr. Nicely and our band students enjoyed a field trip to Houston County High School for the statewide Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation. The WCMS Band received a "good" rating, indicating a solid performance with correct notes, rhythms, and overall musical understanding. As we continue to aim for greater, we celebrate this milestone and acknowledge our students' progress!

Also, what A great day of learning and exploration for our eighth graders at Georgia College & State University! Students enjoyed watching The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, touring campus, and sharing lunch together at The MAX!

During last Tuesday's FCA meeting, our area representative, Mr. Will Parker, dropped in with delicious doughnuts and a meaningful message! Mr. Parker shared the parable of the wheat and tares, a lesson that left students inspired and motivated as we embrace a new month. Focus on growing strong in goodness, kindness, and love, rather than focusing on weeds. FCA meets each Tuesday at 7:30 AM and is sponsored by Mrs. G. Larkin.
