Students pass this vending machine every day, but today they viewed it through a different lens as they explored how it can represent a function, with each input producing an output. As students work through Unit 2: Modeling Linear Relationships and Functions, experiences like this bring the standard to life by connecting mathematical concepts to the world students already know. This is what meaningful learning looks like when students move beyond simply learning math to recognizing and understanding the math happening all around them! โ
