🧪⛏️ SCIENCE CAME TO LIFE IN Ms. Jackson’s CLASSROOM! ⛏️🧪 Ms. Jackson and her 6th grade students brought learning to life with an engaging hands-on mining activity focused on Georgia Standard S6E6! 🌎🍪 Students became “miners” as they used chocolate chip cookies as mining sites, toothpicks as mining tools, and data collection sheets to track and analyze their work just like real scientists and geologists. Through this interactive lesson, students explored the environmental effects of mining, including how mining can impact land, water, and natural habitats. They also discussed why reclamation and conservation are important in protecting Earth’s resources and restoring the environment after mining activities take place. 🌱🌍 Students were fully engaged, actively participating, and able to clearly articulate their learning and connections to the standard. FIELD DAY FUN AT WCMS 🎉 What an exciting day at WCMS! From friendly competition to unforgettable memories, our students and staff had an amazing time celebrating together during Field Day! 💙💛 There was nonstop fun with kickball games, tug-o-war battles, sack races, concessions, laughter, teamwork, and school spirit all across campus. Students cheered each other on, made memories with family and friends, and showed what it truly means to be ONE TEAM, ONE FAMILY, ONE WILCO! 💚 Going Green was the perfect theme for today during Teacher Appreciation Week! We enjoyed seafood salad, chicken salad, fresh salads, fruits, breads, crackers, and sweet time together.
