🖤❤️💛 WCMS Celebrates Black History Month 💚🖤❤️ WCMS proudly celebrated Black History with a powerful program honoring culture, heritage, and diversity. Together, we reflected, learned, and uplifted the voices and contributions that have shaped our world. Our students shined brightly through inspiring performances and presentations, including a moving performance by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) praise dancers, a dynamic performance by the WCMS Band, an engaging “Who Am I?” trivia show, and heartfelt poetry that spoke to history, identity, and hope. 🎶✨ At WCMS, we are ONE TEAM • ONE FAMILY • ONE WILCO 💙💛 Our diversity makes us stronger, and our students are truly full of gifts, talents, creativity, and promise. Our 8th-grade ELA and Social Studies classes held their highly anticipated mock trial last week! Not only does this lesson support learning outside of the box, but it also supports critical thinking, teamwork, and argumentative language. Thank you to the team of Ms. Franklin, Ms. Cabiness, and Mr. Peters for spearheading this ingenious, dynamic lesson. Special thanks to our parents who attended to witness these scholars in action! Yesterday, Mr. Lane and his 8th grade PE class enjoyed fresh air and sunshine out at the tennis court! 🎾

Students reviewed the basic fundamentals of tennis such as rules and scoring, serving, and footwork and movement. In middle school, tennis fundamentals are usually simple, playable basics—enough for students to rally, understand the game, and have fun.
