Students got a more hands on experience in Mr. Jones' math class using shapes to practice writing expressions as they prepare to practice evaluating expressions.






Thanks to Mr. Walls, WCMS guidance counselor, and Mrs. Jackson, WCSD family engagement coordinator, for all that they do to support our students, staff, and families! Your guidance and efforts empower our school community by providing essential emotional and educational support.

Mrs. G. Larkin and Ms. C. Larkin team up to teach students how to compare and contrast texts. They model effective reading strategies, including identifying key themes, highlighting textual evidence, and making connections to prior knowledge, to help students better understand the texts they read.




Mrs. Choice, principal, joins Ms. Williams and Mr. Lane during Increased Learning Time (ILT) to teach their eighth graders how to solve systems of equations algebraically. It's always a great day to teach and learn at WCMS! Leaders working alongside teachers not only model effective teaching but also demonstrate the power of collaboration in fostering student success.





Despite the gloomy weather, these students are full of excitement as they head out for their field trip! Arianna, Akylan, James, Rafael, and Joseph are ready to perform at the Middle Georgia District Honor Band event at Baldwin High School!

Teachers engaged in a professional learning session on depth of knowledge led by Oconee RESA during the last PL Monday session. Designated time for collaborative learning among teachers fosters a supportive environment where professional growth and effective teaching practices flourish.

As a reminder, Professional Learning Monday will be held today, February 3. All students will be dismissed early, with Primary/Elementary dismissal at 1:00PM and Middle/High at 1:15PM. Our sixth-grade scholars are creating brochures to showcase their understanding of Latin America in Social Studies. Through this project, they will not only explore key topics in the region but also develop important research skills, including the responsible use of computers and online resources.
We are Expanding horizons, Empowering minds, and Excelling together!




Our teachers had the opportunity to stop by the teachers lounge for their January PBIS reward -- a "Care" bag. We are Caring, Adaptable, Resilient and Effective.
Teachers received a sharpie, peppermints, lip balm, tissue, gummy bears, and hand sanitizer.
