📚Our eighth graders enjoyed a wonderful day of teaching and learning outside the classroom at Ocmulgee Mounds. They experienced Georgia Studies and geography firsthand through exploration and discovery.

💙Today in Dr. Scott's seventh grade Healthcare Science class, students got hands-on with DNA. During the mini-lesson, Dr. Scott reviewed DNA structure and demonstrated how to build a model using Twizzlers for the sugar-phosphate backbone, marshmallows for the nitrogen bases, and toothpicks for hydrogen bonds. 🍡 💛Students then worked in small groups to construct their own DNA models, label key parts, and share their creation with the class. Eighth graders are wrapping up the fourth phase of their book study project! 📚Phase 1: Students analyzed song lyrics and chose a "lead single" that connects to the novel. 📚Phase 2: Students built a full soundtrack of five songs tied to characters, struggles, and events. 📚Phase 3: They wrote music-blogger style reviews linking quotes from the text to song lyrics. 📚Phase 4: Students are creating presentations (digital slideshow, physical display, or video pitch) to share their soundtracks.
