We want to provide you with an important update regarding a recent situation involving our schools.
We were informed of a potential threat related to a published list from the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) Title I “ targeted assistance” schools. We want to clarify that this list is not a target list for threats, but rather a list related to educational resources and support. A group of students misinterpreted this as a threat connected to recent events in Barrow County.
After a thorough review, we have determined that there was a misunderstanding, and no actual threat to our school exists. We understand that any mention of a potential threat can be unsettling, and we appreciate your patience as we worked to clarify the situation. Please rest assured that we are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone.
